The History

Distilled in 1961, this Calvados was born in the shadows of the Domfrontais bocage — a time when local farmers still lit their stills on stormy winter nights, far from the eyes of tax agents.

A year later, in 1962, a raid would force the creation of Chais du Verger Normand and bring these clandestine eaux-de-vie into the light. The 1961 vintage remains one of the last pure witnesses of this forbidden era.

Today, after more than six decades in oak barrels, it stands as a rare and irreplaceable treasure — a bottle of history as much as a bottle of Calvados.
